THAILAND ON FIRE IN AUGUST 2024! Pre-COVID August 2019 Numbers Surpassed with 41,000 Arrivals

📌Rome, September 9, 2024 – The Thai National Tourism Authority is thrilled to announce that August 2024 marked a historic milestone for tourism in Thailand. For the first time since the end of the COVID pandemic, tourist arrivals surpassed the pre-pandemic levels of 2019. With around 41,000 arrivals recorded in August 2024, this figure exceeded the 39,000 arrivals for the same month in 2019, demonstrating a robust recovery and growing interest in Thailand as a destination.

Sandro Botticelli, Marketing Manager of the Thai National Tourism Authority, stated: “We are extremely pleased with the results achieved in August. This milestone not only signifies a significant recovery in tourism but also highlights Thailand's ongoing appeal as a preferred travel destination. The recent reactivation of Thai Airways' direct flight from Milan to Bangkok certainly contributed to this success, making access easier for Italian tourists."

Botticelli added: “We are also excited about the upcoming ITA Airways flight from Rome to Bangkok, set to launch in November. This new route will not only strengthen connections between Italy and Thailand but also expand travel options, providing travelers with several flight choices to reach and explore the 'Land of Smiles.'”
