[PPR] MovieMov Italian Film Festival
The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce has inaugurated "MovieMov Italian Film Fest" at House Samyan in Bangkok for its XIII edition. With the support of the General Direction of the Cinema and Ministry of Culture (Direzione Generale per il Cinema del Ministero della Cultura), in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, the event conceived by Goffredo Bettini and organized by Associazione Culturale Playtown Roma takes place again from 27th February to 1st March in Bangkok.
MovieMov paid homage to the Turkish-Italian film director Ferzan Ozpetek with the screening of the restored copy of "The Turkish Bath - Hamam" and two of his most iconic films "The Ignorant Fairies" and “Loose Cannons.”
This year's event will be inaugurated by “C'è ancora domani”, the blockbuster comedy by Paola Cortellesi which will be introduced by Vinicio Marchioni. It is also in the program “Mia” by Ivano De Matteo, accompanied by the actress Milena Mancini. Also guest of the event is the actress Paola Minaccioni who will join Ferzan Ozpetek, to whom a retrospective is dedicated.
Before the vision of the movies, H.E. Paolo Dionisi, the esteemed Ambassador of Italy, and Federico Cardini, President of the Thai Italian Chamber of Commerce, took the stage with their words. The President of TICC declared "Tonight, we're not just here to watch a movie. We're here to celebrate the beauty of Italian culture and the strong connection between Italy and Thailand."
To enrich the program and open the first day of the event there was also activities dedicated to the industry and aimed at encouraging the creation of a meeting platform for the cultural and commercial promotion of new Italian cinema abroad and in particular in South-East Asia, which increasingly represents an interesting base to a commercial point of view: B2B activities, the presentation of the next edition of Mia, masterclasses and meetings with festival guests.
