Thailand Forges Path to BRICS Membership

Thailand is advancing its bid to join the BRICS group, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and is expanding to include more members. The Thai government has approved a draft letter expressing its intention to join the organization. This move aligns with Thailand's vision of international cooperation and increasing the influence of developing nations on the global stage. Joining BRICS would strengthen Thailand's presence on the global stage. Thailand plans to attend the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, in October to expedite the membership process. Additionally, Thailand is seeking membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
