Announce MOU Signing Ceremony to Boost Connectivity between Bangkok and Italy
[Bangkok, Thailand - June 1, 2023] - The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) and Turkish Airlines are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Thailand and Italy. The MOU signing ceremony took place on June 1, 2023, at the TICC offices in Bangkok, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between these two esteemed organizations.
The collaboration between the TICC and Turkish Airlines signifies their shared commitment to expanding connectivity and fostering economic growth between Bangkok and Italy. With the recent introduction of nine new routes connecting Bangkok and various cities in Italy through Istanbul, Turkish Airlines has emerged as a pivotal player in facilitating travel and trade between these two vibrant regions.
The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, including its President, Mr. Federico Cardini, Secretary-General, Mr. Giacomo Iobizzi, Trade Assistant, Ms. Ilaria Zolia and CRM Assistant, Ms. Phanatchakorn Muangfak. Turkish Airlines was represented by Mr. Ilker Basaran, the Director (Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos) of the airline, along with Mr. Saran Tipparak, Corporate Sales Manager-Thailand / Corporate Sales and Marketing.
Mr. Federico Cardini, President of the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "This MOU signifies a new era of collaboration between Thailand and Italy. We are excited to partner with Turkish Airlines to enhance connectivity between our two countries, which will undoubtedly promote business ties, tourism, and cultural exchanges. The newly introduced routes will play a pivotal role in strengthening our bilateral relations and fostering economic growth."
Mr. Ilker Basaran, the Director (Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos) of Turkish Airlines, emphasized the airline's commitment to facilitating seamless travel experiences and strengthening ties between Thailand and Italy. He remarked, "We are delighted to collaborate with the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce to offer enhanced connectivity and travel options between Bangkok and Italy. With our extensive network and commitment to service excellence, we are confident that these new routes will facilitate increased business opportunities, boost tourism, and strengthen the cultural ties between the people of Thailand and Italy."
The newly introduced routes by Turkish Airlines will connect Bangkok with various cities in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Bologna, Bari, Catania, Palermo, and Bergamo. As of 5th of May 2023, Turkish Airlines added Palermo to its network as 9th and latest destination in Italy. This expanded network will provide travelers and businesses with increased convenience, efficiency, and greater access to key destinations in both countries.
The MOU signing ceremony between the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Turkish Airlines marks a significant step forward in fostering closer economic and cultural ties between Thailand and Italy.
