[PPR] TICC and DBD Explore Opportunities for Increased Economic Cooperation

The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) and the Thai Department of Business Development (DBD) today concluded a productive meeting aimed at exploring new avenues for collaboration between Italian and Thai businesses. The meeting took place at the TICC Connect, a new division of the Chamber’s office.

The high-level meeting was attended by esteemed representatives from DBD, including Director-General Auramon Supthaweethum; Deputy Director-General M.L. Bhuthong Thongyai; Worawit Sing-In Director of Foreign Business Administration Division; and their delegates. From TICC’s side, Giacomo Iobizzi, Secretary-General and some representative figures of the entourage of the Chamber

The discussions covered a broad range of topics, including the presence of prominent Italian brands in Thailand across various sectors, such as Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Machinery, and Medical; the potential implications of Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Thailand; the challenges faced by Italian businesses operating in Thailand; the TICC's commitment to leveraging its influence to facilitate smoother trade and negotiations between Italian and Thai companies; the DBD's ongoing efforts to promote its Thai Select certification initiative; and a tour of the newly refurbished TICC office, showcasing its modern kitchen facilities, which will be utilized to promote some F&B partners, providing the opportunity to organize events and seminars within the space.

Both the TICC and the DBD expressed optimism about the potential for increased economic cooperation between Italy and Thailand. This meeting marks a significant step towards creating a more favorable environment for businesses from both countries to thrive.
