Bridging Cultures: Exploring Multilingual Education in a Globalized World
Bangkok, 19 July 2024 - The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) successfully hosted the new episode of TICC Edu Forum titled "Bridging Cultures: Multilingual Education in a Globalized World," in collaboration with Bimbi Italiani and The Multilingual Garden by Dr. Karin Martin at TICC Connect.
With this seminar, TICC aimed to explore the transformative power of multilingual education in our increasingly interconnected world.
During the event, Dr. Karin Martin, founder of The Multilingual Garden, presented her insightful book on multilingualism. The book addresses prevalent myths and provides a clear, engaging guide on managing multilingualism in family and educational settings.
The Panel Discussion was conducted with the participation of:
1) Dr. Tommaso Maggio: Education Specialist and Cross-Cultural Learning Advocate, Consultant
2) Dr. Nalinee Chongviriyaphan: the Head of the Pediatric Center and is currently the President of the Medical Affairs Office of Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital.
3) Mr. Pietro Briguglio: Business Development Executive at Unicitrus Isolarcorp Co., Ltd. (Festilia), who has been raised in a multilingual environment who delved into the benefits and challenges of multilingual education, sharing their experiences and knowledge.
There was also a practical workshop featuring four fundamental steps for educators to create thriving multilingual classrooms. Additionally, a networking session provided participants with the opportunity to connect with other professionals and mingle in the new lounge area at TICC Connect.
